Bantam AAA/AA - NEW FOR 2020

We are happy to announce the format for the Bantam AAA and AA teams for the 2020 season.

Coquitlam/Moody, Poco and Ridge Meadows Minor Baseball Associations will be merging their Bantam AAA and AA programs for the 2020 season under the new name Pitt River Rats.

The association presidents, competitive program directors and coaches are excited at this opportunity to work together and take this step for our players. Please read on for the preliminary information regarding the program format

• The River Rats will have their own logo, uniforms and hats.
• Dave Bird will oversee the program and he will also head coach the AAA team. Dave has been involved in baseball in the Tri City area for many years and has built a strong working relationship with the competitive program coaches from all three organizations.
• Both the AAA and AA teams will practice and play home games out of a combination of Bird Field, PMAP, Hammond Stadium and Town Centre.
• Players will register in their home association and then, should they make the AAA or AA team, the additional team fees will be paid to the River Rats.
• The River Rats AAA team will be coached by Dave Bird and Tyler Bird with additional assistants from RMMBA. The AA River Rats will be coached by a combination of coaches from the three organizations. These coaches will be named officially closer to when the rosters are announced.
• The teams will each play at least two tournaments with the possibility of a third tournament added.
• The AAA and AA players will have the opportunity to practice with their home association College Prep programs and will be encouraged to return to their home association to try out for College Prep or Midget AAA in future seasons.
• Pre-season evaluations will start in the first week of January with tryouts taking place in the first week of February. Time and location TBA.

Information about evaluation workouts and tryout times and locations will be out shortly as will details about the cost of the programs. Expect costs to be in the neighbourhood of last year’s fees.
